Dry Eyes
The tear ducts may be affected during surgery and cause the lubrication of the eyes to be decreased. Artificial tears may be used to alleviate the symptom.
Lag Ophthalmus
Drooping of the eyelids after surgery would require surgical intervention if after 6 months – 1 year, the problem persists.
Asymmetry
Differences between the two eyes areas treated may necessitate further surgery.
Scarring
Scars are placed in the folds on the eyelids. Scar revision may be necessary after everything is healed.
Infection
Rare and usually treatable with antibiotics.
Bleeding
Rare but may require surgical intervention.
Need for revisionary surgery
The above complications may necessitate further surgery.
